About
Us
SwimLabs is the brainchild of two local businessmen with lengthy
ties to the Colorado swimming community, Mike Mann and Giff Cutler.
Between them, Mann and Cutler have been swimming and coaching
competitively for nearly 60 years. And make no mistake; by swimming
competitively we’re not talking about a couple of has-beens
showing up at a meet here and there. Instead, Mike Mann, for
example, is a 3-time FINA World Masters Champion (2006), a 7-time
National Masters swim champion and the current holder of a number
of US Masters swim records. Both Mann and Cutler started swimming
competitively as youngsters, Mann in Littleton and Cutler in
Texas where he was a High School All American. From there, both
men took their obvious talents to the University of New Mexico
where they swam and played water polo. While continuing to train
and compete actively since the good old days of college, the
two have also been sharing their swimming acumen with local swimmers
as coaches – Cutler for the Castle Rock Swim Club and Mann
for the Littleton High School girls’ team and the University
of Denver and Inverness Master’s Teams.
As coaches, both Mann and Cutler recognized that proper technique
is the single most important key to becoming a good swimmer.
From that knowledge SwimLabs was born – a swimming instruction
facility dedicated to perfecting technique. In essence, their
philosophy is really quite simple: By focusing on and improving
technique SwimLabs enables each swimmer to realize his or her
full potential in the water. SwimLabs takes the subjective out
of coaching; by relying on the latest in advanced video and computer
technology to compare the swimmer’s individual stroke to
that of the world’s best swimmers, SwimLabs enables each
student to perfect his or her technique. As they say, the camera
never lies. And the results will be evident on the watch.
Hi, Giff,
This is Jeanette Gryskevich from West Virginia who came in 2 weeks ago
and worked with me on my left arm and keeping my legs together. Well,
I have had 2 practices with those drills and I have taken 15 seconds
off my time already!! I am so excited.
My next triathlon is Aug. 25 with a 330 yard swim with a time no longer
than 9:50. Last year, my time was 9:30, today it was 9:15.
I hope to shave off maybe 5-10 more seconds off.
Thanks, again, Jeanette |
