SwimLabs Team Nights

Posted on Jan 7, 2019 3:02:01 PM by SwimLabs in competitive swimming, in Swim Team, in SwimLabs, in Highlands Ranch, CO, in training

It’s the beginning of high school swim season and local teams hurry to schedule their Team Nights at SwimLabs Highlands Ranch.

“As a high school coach, I see a great value in the SwimLabs Team Night,” says Jenny Leddick, assistant Girls’ Swim coach at Rock Canyon High School. “The girls who go to our Team Nights have ‘Aha moments’ when they see a change that needs to happen in their stroke. With 80+ girls on our team I can’t always take the time to perfect each swimmer’s stroke, but when they come back from SwimLabs and tell me what they need to work on, it’s much easier for me to address it in practice.”

SwimLabs Stories: Forty Minutes

Posted on Jun 26, 2018 5:06:03 PM by Rachel Petersen in training, in race, in technique, in SwimLabs

Why SwimLabs? Forty minutes.  I cut forty minutes off of my 10k swim after working at SwimLabs.

My stroke dramatically improved as I eliminated inefficiencies. I incorporated a two beat kick. For the longer distance, this helped save energy. I had a few lessons at SwimLabs and Mike helped me add more reach, power, and rotation to my stroke. As I practiced and when I raced, I cycled through the list, e.g. reach, finish, and quick breath, so that my overall stroke improved.
