- Hiring, Training and Developing People
- Training of SwimLabs Instructors: Facilitation of entire training program for SwimLabs instructors including the curriculum and practical trainings of the SwimLabs Level 1 and Level 2 programs.
> Must be able to communicate detailed SwimLabs training programs to instructors with various levels of experience
> Maintain the high standard of teaching requirements of SwimLabs Swim School
> Detailed management of training schedules to make sure that training requirements are met
- Instructor Review Program: Facilitation of Quarterly and Annual reviews for all instructors.
> Scheduling and management of Quarterly Review process, which includes management of the Peer-to-Peer program
> In collaboration with the SwimLabs Operations Manager, conducting and communicating annual reviews for all instructors
> Must be able to critique employee performance and communicate feedback effectively
> Must be able to identify employee deficiencies and provide supplemental training
- Ongoing Education: Development and communication of ongoing education material to instructors.
> Promotes continuing education and development of instructors
> Communication of training provided by Corporate or development of material needed by local staff
> Should have knowledge of current competitive swimming techniques
- Poolroom and Equipment Room Management: Management of all poolroom and equipment room operations including ongoing maintenance, cleaning, and chemical usage.
> CPO Certification required
> Maintains pools according to local health department requirements
> Keeps the poolroom clean and operational to high SwimLabs standards
> Manages usage and supply of all chemicals, tools, and equipment
> Manages equipment and keeps all functionality at all times
> Delegates responsibilities to staff and oversees teamwork
- Frontline Technical Support: Responsible for all technology involved with lessons.
> Maintenance of computer and camera systems
> Acts as first responder to technical issues
> Works with Corporate IT Specialist to address ongoing maintenance and immediate technical issues
- Staff Culture: Development and continuation of positive work environment for all staff that maintains exceptional lesson quality and outstanding customer service.
> Maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment
> Developing a team-like atmosphere that encourages instructors to collaborate and learn from each other
> Implementation of team building activities that lead to employee retention
- Work closely with SwimLabs Operations Manager on many business related duties including, but not limited to:
> Recruiting, selecting, and converting prospective applicants into SwimLabs Instructors
> Scheduling training, classes, staff availability, and on-going education
- Strong organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Coached for a minimum of 2 years
- Effective communication skills
- Passionate about swimming
- Background in swimming
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- CPO Certification required
Serves clients and visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; helps keep appointments running on-time; maintains office operations by receiving and distributing communications; maintaining supplies and equipment; maintains facility appearance and cleanliness.
Accomplishes department objectives by teaching clients how to swim; maintaining facility cleanliness; participating in special promotional events; providing exceptional customer service.
Teaches group swim classes and private lessons to all ages and abilities; conducts lessons according to SwimLabs training; upholds company core values and displays competence in performing expectations.
Provides accountability by submitting lesson plans in a timely manner; completes lesson notes for private lessons; communicates issues or questions to management.
Establishes strategic goals by using lesson plans; builds relationship with clients; is prepared to teach upon arrival to work; is safe and competent to be left alone.
Accomplishes responsibilities outside of teaching objectives by documenting completed tasks; takes initiative to find work; uses sound judgment to make decisions.
Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; provides a safe and comfortable environment for all clients; resolves issues; identifying needs; recommending system improvements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
Complies with employment expectations; makes appropriate adjustments when requested by management, including evaluation feedback; upholds standards of all signed contracts.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The ideal candidate has a passion for swimming, stroke technique, and values continuous education. You must enjoy working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from new swimmers to national level swimmers.
