Did you know that when he was young, Michael Phelps was afraid of having water on his face? The old saying, "You have to start somewhere", has always rung true. Sometimes it is easy to forget that every amazing athlete, no matter their current prestige, started as a beginner and understanding how preliminary steps, lessons, and small time races can build to the world record shattering results is its own challenge for wouldbe superstars.  If you are just starting out, when the going gets tough, you might just need some inspiration. College Searches – Keeping Your Sanity

This mom knows all too well the stresses of helping a son and daughter with their college decision.

Academics, location, swim program, division level, team dynamics, and overall college cost kept me up many nights. I don’t remember my college search being quite so stressful but then again, that was 1983 and I was being recruited by a few top swimming programs. My parents lucked out with four of their girls receiving full swimming scholarships and a brother attending West Point. Nowadays, colleges are twice the cost (or more), and there are vastly more great athletes vying for coveted scholarships.

Jason Lezak Visits SwimLabs Sandy

Jason Lezak, Olympic Gold Medalist, hosted Champions Clinics January 6th and 7th at SwimLabs Sandy in Utah. Local News was on hand covering the event as well!

After winning the "I Swim Because" contest last summer and holding an event with Olympic Gold Medalist, Missy Franklin, SwimLabs Sandy brings another Gold Medalist to their pools.

Olympic Gold Medalist, Kelsi Worrell, Hosts Champion's Clinic at SwimLabs

Champions Clinics are small, intimate swim sessions packed with informative seminars, video analysis, hands-on instruction, and an autograph session led by Olympic Swimmers!

SwimLabs Highlands RanchSwimLabs Fort Collins, and SwimLabs Littleton were in for a treat on November 11th and 12th when Olympic medalist Kelsi Worrell stopped by their locations. Kelsi taught private lessons at SwimLabs Highlands Ranch and SwimLabs Fort Collins, and we also filmed her strokes for the Champions video library on Saturday at SwimLabs Highlands Ranch. She then put on a Champions Clinic at SwimLabs Littleton on Sunday.
